Concerto’s water management System – FAQs
How were the values arrived at in the ‘Quantity’ section?
All data values displayed are based on calculated averages of figures sourced from N.B.Code standards, Meteorological Department Data and On-site Calculations. A copy of the N.B.Code can be found here. NOTE: this document was last reaffirmed in 2002.
Does one person really use 160 Litres of water a day?
Indeed! Based on the N.B.Code, and calculated estimates, the break down of 160 Litres is as follows:
Cooking & Drinking – 10 Litres
Swimming Pool – 10 Litres
Landscaping & Car – 15 Litres
Toilet – 30 Litres
Bathroom – 55 Litres
Laundry – 20 Litres
Utensil cleaning – 10 Litres
Floor cleaning – 10 Litres
‘I don’t use that much water’ or ‘I use more water than that’ – how do the calculations change for you?
Per Capita usage of water can vary significantly as more consumer durables will get adopted by households over the years (Eg. dishwashers, larger cars, bath tubs). These differences have partly been accounted for considering the current water usage norms and statistics.
How were the values arrived at in the ‘Cost’ section?
The cost assumptions are based on the current prevailing Market Rates of the Equipment, Consumables, Raw Materials & Operational Costs.
Will the Quality of water be consistent through-out?
Quality of water yield is directly proportional to regular maintenance of equipment and the cleanliness of water tanks.
Will there be a constant and consistent supply of rain-water through the year?
The quantum of rain-fall varies from year to year, month to month and even across different parts of the city. The values used in the calculations are averages based on this document.
Will there be a constant and consistent supply of ground-water through the year?
It is a commonly known fact that the water table level in the Sarjapur area is a fiercely depleting resource. Also, with the increasing number of residential units coming up in the area and it’s neighbouring communities, the situation is only going to get worse. The ground water level is subject to variations based on seasonal changes, presence of nearby water bodies and the diligence of residential units in following best practices of ground water harvesting.
How is Dasta going to counter the above two situations?
Naturally occurring sources of water are subject to a large number of variations and over time will tend to deplete. It is hence, even more crucial to intelligently not just manage water but also aim at maximizing reuse of water. Reuse of water and recharging of the underground water table are two priorities that have been engineered into the project’s water management system.
Is Dasta authorized to use Bore-well Water?
The usage of Bore-well Water is subject to approval from CGWA(Central Ground Water Authority), which Dasta has already acquired.
Why is the tanker cost not the same as it is in my locality?
Our Tanker Water costs are based on the average current rate prevailing in the Sarjapur area. If the costs in our dropdown are drastically different, send us an email to the contrary with some proof of cost differences, if we are convinced we will update them on our website.
